Specialty Training for Goalkeepers
CALLING ALL KEEPERS
Open to any child with an interest in trying their hand in net, our goalkeeper academy provides an immersive environment where goalkeeping is the sole focus for the entire session. Normally group keeper sessions are held on Wednesday afternoons at Pier 5.
For younger keepers, we focus on the basics of positioning, awareness and core goalkeeping techniques. The goal is to teach them how to operate safely between the posts, while giving them the best chance at keeping the ball out of the net.
As our goalkeepers progress in age and skill, we start to work on advanced techniques, communicating with and orchestrating field players, goalkeeper specific conditioning, and the mindset required to succeed.
This program can be a great way for field players to get a taste of what it’s like to be a goalkeeper, or a dedicated opportunity to hone their craft, if goalkeeping is your player’s passion.

Run by coaches who have many years of experience in the net, we are able to both bring and impart a level of goalkeeping intuition that is otherwise quite hard to come by.
Leadership, focus, mental fortitude, communication, instinct, and the vision to conduct the field in front of you, are all aspects of the game that our goalkeeper academy aims to sharpen.
Even if goalkeeping is not your child’s primary position, this academy is a great way to expand their knowledge and appreciation of this beautiful game. Whether they continue in their journey to defend the woodwork, or elect to serve their team as a field player, every one of our students will leave with a newfound understanding and respect for this challenging position, which is a key component of developing a well rounded teammate.
