We are enjoying a great futbol season now that spring weather is here!
The official 2016-17 travel team tryout for all new players boys and girls ages u8-u15 will be held:
Friday, June 3rd 4-6pm
Mclaughlin Park
(Tillary and Flatbush, enter from Jay st or Cathedaral Pl)
Players must come in full soccer gear (turf shoes, shinguards, etc) with a ball.
Please email chloe.leichman@gmail.com to save a tryout spot for your player, and include in the email player info: full name, date of birth, previous soccer experience and if they currently play for a club team.
We will hold followup tryouts for those who qualify, on Friday June 10, same time/location.
A few details about the requirements for travel teams:
Besides skill, your player must commit to 3 seasons of futbol – fall, winter and spring. Every team trains twice weekly throughout the school year (either a monday/wednesday or tuesday/thursday schedule) with 8-10 outdoor league games in fall and spring and a few indoor tournaments in the winter season. Your player will not be considered for the roster if these scheduling commitments cannot be met, and if attendance is less than 80% during the season the spot on the roster will be at risk. Players must attend practice and games in proper uniform with their own ball. Coaching fee payments can be flexible if cost is an issue but all fees must be made in full by February 2017. Registration fee to cover uniforms, ref fees, league fees and gym fees is due by July in the amount of $400. Player required documents for roster pass are birth certificate or passport and a photo, as well as a medical release.
